What Exactly Is “Creative Imagination”?

Pam says I’m in charge of creative imagination.

I nodded like I knew exactly what that meant.

I did not.

But I do know what it feels like to look at something ordinary and immediately wonder what else it could become.

A ball of yarn could become a flower.

A flower could become a bouquet.

A bouquet could probably use a matching table runner.

Pam says this is how projects multiply.

I say this is how creativity works.

I think creative imagination starts with one simple question:

What if?

What if I try a different color?

What if I combine two ideas?

What if I make something nobody asked for, but it turns out wonderful anyway?

Sometimes it works.

Sometimes it does not.

Sometimes it becomes what Pam calls “a learning experience.”

But that’s part of creating too.

Maybe creativity isn’t about knowing exactly what you’re doing before you begin.

Maybe it’s about being curious enough to try, brave enough to make mistakes, and willing to imagine what something could become.

And I think God gave us that ability for a reason.

So here in Persephanie’s Corner, we’re going to experiment, try new things, use lots of color, and keep asking:

What if?

I still may not completely understand what “creative imagination” means.

But I think we’re going to have a lot of fun finding out.
