From Receiving Help to Creating Hope: Pam’s Story

Creative Acts of Praise did not begin with a business plan, a website, or a product line. It began many years ago through the kindness of people who chose to care.

In 1994, I became a single mother raising two daughters. Like many families navigating difficult seasons, we faced challenges that could not be solved by determination alone. During that time, I found support through a local ministry for single mothers.

What I found there was more than assistance. It was a community.

People offered encouragement, practical help, spiritual guidance, and friendship. They showed up consistently and faithfully. They met needs with dignity and compassion. They reminded me that no one is meant to carry life’s burdens alone.

My daughters were welcomed into that community as well. Through the church’s youth group and opportunities to serve alongside me, they learned something that would shape them for years to come: faith is not simply something we believe. It is something we live.

Over the years, I witnessed firsthand how practical assistance can change the course of a family’s life. A meal, a conversation, a helping hand, a prayer offered at the right moment—these acts may seem small, but they often become turning points.

At the same time, creativity remained a constant thread throughout my life. I learned to knit and crochet as a child. During financially difficult seasons, handmade gifts became a meaningful way to give. Creating was both a refuge and a reminder that beauty can emerge even in challenging circumstances.

Today, creating is still one of the ways I experience God most personally. Whether I’m crocheting, designing something for the ministry, or simply figuring out how to turn an idea into something useful, I’m reminded that creativity itself is a gift.

What gives me the greatest joy now is seeing that gift become something that can encourage, help, or bless another person.

Eventually, those two parts of my story began to connect.

What if creativity could become a practical way to help others?

What if artists, crafters, quilters, woodworkers, and makers could use their gifts to support communities in need?

What if the work of our hands could become an offering?

Those questions became the foundation of Creative Acts of Praise.

Today, this ministry brings together creators, supporters, prayer partners, and leaders who share a common desire: to use what God has placed in our hands to bless others.

Creative Acts of Praise exists because someone once cared for me and my family.

Now, through creativity, partnership, and faith, we hope to extend that same care to others.
